A Cruel Kindness: Laying the Foundations of Federal Child Welfare Policy in the 1920s and 1930s
This report will be separated into two parts. The first will focus on reports and interviews with former school staff and their accounts of the Indian Residential School (IRS) system. It will examine the responses of non-Indigenous individuals who worked in the schools when confronted with the atrocities connected to the legacy of the IRS system and their roles within that network.
